A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Roark completed all of his higher education at Duke University and Duke University Medical Center. Upon completion of his fellowship, Dr. Roark relocated to Gainesville where he joined Cardiology Associates of Gainesville in 1986.
Dr. Roark is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with specialty certificates in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He also holds a certificate for Special Competency in Cardiac Pacing & Cardioversion Defibrillation. He has served as Clinical Assistant Professor in Medicine at the University of Florida, and is licensed to practice medicine in both North Carolina and Florida.
Dr. Roark has maintained his strong ties with Duke, serving as the President of the Duke Clinical Cardiology Studies for many years and participating on the Medical Alumni Counsel. Locally, he has served in numerous leadership positions at hospitals and his children’s school.
Dr. Roark’s clinical interests include Interventional Cardiology, Pacemakers, ICDs, and Bi-Ventricular devices. In his leisure time Dr. Roark enjoys sailing, golf and his family’s various athletic pursuits.
