Born in Evanston, Illinois, Dr. O’Meara received his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and his Medical Degree from the University of Virginia. He then served his internship, residency, and his cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology fellowships at the University of North Carolina. Additionally, Dr. O’Meara completed a Medical Informatics and Decision Making fellowship while attending UNC.

Dr. O’Meara holds specialty certificates from the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He joined Cardiology Associates of Gainesville in 1996. He has served as Clinical Assistant Professor in Medicine at the University of Florida, and has held numerous leadership positions in the medical community over the years.

Dr. O’Meara has a strong interest in peripheral catheterization and stenting, both of which procedures he performs in the CAG facility. Spare time for Dr. O’Meara revolves around his family.
