A native of South Florida, Dr. Werbel received a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering from Duke University. He then earned his medical degree at the University of Florida, followed by an internship and residency, chief residency, and cardiology fellowship at Wake Forest University/Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Dr. Werbel holds a specialty certificate in Cardiovascular Disease from the American Board of Internal Medicine. He also holds certifications in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.
Prior to joining Cardiology Associates of Gainesville in 2005, Dr. Werbel worked with Carolina Cardiology Associates in High Point, North Carolina for nine years. In his leisure time Dr. Werbel enjoys music, tennis, exploring technology, and spending time with his family.
