Medication Refills and Renewal Guidelines

Cardiology Associates of Gainesville has a dedicated prescription refill line to make getting refills easier. This line can be reached by calling 352-375-1212 and asking for the prescription line or extension 498.  This line is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You will receive a automated voice mail message with refill instructions.  This line is checked frequently thoughout the day. Please be prepared to leave the following information when you call:

  • Your name and (spelling) and date of birth
  • The name and spelling of your medication
  • The dosage of your medication and how often you take your medication
  • The name and telephone number of the pharmacy of your choice

Routine refill requests are handled Monday through Friday.  If you do not have any refills left, please notify us seven to fourteen (7-14) business days before your prescription runs out.  Please allow 48 hours or 2 buisness days for processing.  Our office will call you back should we have any questions, or if the prescription refill is denied and reasons for denial.

  • Please note prescriptions cannot be refilled if it has been more than one year since your last visit.
  • Refills on medication can only be authorized on medications prescribed by physicians in our office.  We will not refill medications prescribed by other physicians.

Mail Order Pharmacy Requests:

We are happy to assist with mail order prescription refills.  A written prescription signed by your practitioner will be required.  Unless you request otherwise, our prescription will be mailed to your home. We encourage you to plan ahead and allow for mail time if you utilize mail order services.

At your Appointment / Visit:

When having an appointment, please bring all of your medications. Be sure to include medications from all physicians, over the counter, herbal and vitamins.
Please advise our staff of any medications you need refilled.  You will be given a prescription to take or mail to your pharmacy at that time.
